April 2018 – World Malaria Day 

Given that today is World Malaria Day it only seems apt to educate one’s self on the Malaria virus and its prevalence in our country. South Africa finds itself faced with an alarming upsurge in Malaria within its three provinces where the disease is endemic: Limpopo, Mpumalanga and Kwa-Zulu Natal. During March 2017, a total of 9478 Malaria cases were reported with a total of 76 deaths as compared to the previous 2015/16 season reporting a total of 6385 Malaria cases leading to 58 deaths.
