The new dawn as championed by President Cyril Ramaphosa is well underway says Business Leadership South Africa (BLSA) chief executive officer (CEO) Bonang Mohale.

Speaking to Onkgopotse JJ Tabane on POWER Perspective, Mohale says it’s only been six months since Ramaphosa took over the presidency, but there are signs that things are improving in South Africa.

“I think the new dawn has arrived. It is going to be hard.  This president is playing chess, while his detractors are playing checkers.  When those two collide, chess wins all the time.

“As business we are encouraged that indeed the new dawn has arrived, the architects of state capture are outside the country fearing arrest and the new administration has prioritised the economy and placed inclusive socio-economic growth and transformation at the centre of the economic agenda.

“We need to continue the crackdown on state capture, need to reduce government debt and the bloated civil service, we need to scrap unaffordable glamour infrastructure projects like nuclear, we need to continue to increase parliamentary oversight,” stresses Mohale.
