Road to Copenhagen

INVITATION:
International business leaders, policy makers and scientists will meet in Copenhagen on March 26th - 27th 2008 to aid the process of designing a new climate treaty

For the first time, leaders from Europe, the Americas, Asia and Oceania have joined forces and taken upon them the responsibility to plan The Business Road Map to Copenhagen 2009.

They will agree on activities that can support the necessary foundation for a new climate treaty supported by international business, when negotiators at the UN Climate Summit in Copenhagen in 2009 will agree on the successor to the Kyoto Protocol.

Members of the Copenhagen Climate Council have been selected amongst high-profile business leaders, scientists and policy makers such as Li Xiaolin, CEO China Powers; Tim Flannery, Scientist and Writer; Sir David King, Scientist and Director; Shai Agassi, CEO Project Better Place; Rob Morrison, CEO CLSA Asia Pacific Markets; Jens Ulltveit-Moe, CEO Umoe Group; Anders Eldrup, CEO Dong Energy and Moses Tsang, Chairman and Managing Partner Ajia Partners. Please see the Copenhagen Climate Council webite for a total list of the Council members.

The Copenhagen Climate Council has been founded with the objective of engaging international business leaders in the lead up to the UN Summit and to highlight to them the power they have to influence the work to formulate a new treaty. The Copenhagen Climate Council will work for a new treaty that both reduces climate risks while at the same time help to increase economic growth and development.

At the press conference the Danish Government will be represented by the Danish Minister for Economic and Business Affairs, Mr. Bendt Bendtsen.

To succeed in this mission we need to involve all important stakeholders. Therefore the Copenhagen Climate Council invites you to the launch of The Business Road Map to Copenhagen 2009 and the presentation of a unique, new, international climate project created by two members of The Copenhagen Climate Council.
