Pollution and environmental degradation caused by industrialization and urbanization has emerged as one of the Asia Pacific region’s most pressing issues.
The key to heading off devastating climate change – and to sidestepping out-of-sight oil prices along the way – is to improve technology. We need good alternatives to fossil fuels. We need to harvest vast amounts of solar power and start storing the C02 emitted by coal-fired power stations underground. We need green buildings that demand less energy for heating and cooling and automobiles that get vastly more miles per gallon. These are all achievable goals. The technologies are within our reach.
The mission of APRSCP is to strengthen public-private partnerships to stimulate the promotion and implementation of cleaner production strategies and technologies in the region.
